The Schneider Electric LV848067 is a MasterPact MTZ2 20 H2 fixed-mount air circuit breaker, 4-pole, rated 2000 A at 40 °C. The 2000 A sensor rating means the breaker's electronic trip unit reads current through that window; the frame itself handles the full 2000 A continuous without derating up to 40 °C ambient. This is a power distribution protection device, not a motor-circuit breaker. The 4-pole version with neutral on the right suits TN-S or TN-C-S systems where you switch the neutral.
That's the ultimate short-circuit capacity — the breaker can interrupt one fault at that level and still be serviceable afterward. The service breaking capacity Ics matches Icu at 415 V (100 kA) and at 440 V (100 kA), meaning after clearing a fault at those voltages the breaker is rated to carry full current again. At 690 V, Ics drops to 85 kA. The making capacity Icm hits 220 kA at 415 V — that's the peak let-through the contacts must close onto and latch against. For selective coordination, the short-time withstand Icw is 85 kA for 0.5 s and 1 s, and 75 kA for 3 s, which gives downstream breakers time to clear a fault before this upstream device trips. Maximum breaking time is 25 ms, closing response 70 ms. The 12 kV impulse withstand covers surge coordination per IEC 60947-1.
Environmental limits and durability
Altitude: full rating up to 2000 m, derated above that to 5000 m. Electrical durability varies by duty: 8000 cycles at 440 V AC under EN/IEC 60947-2, 6000 cycles at 690 V AC under the same standard, and 6000 to 8000 cycles for AC-23A switching duties per EN/IEC 60947-3. Power dissipation is 250 W — factor that into enclosure ventilation or air conditioning for a multi-breaker lineup.
