MasterPact MTZ2 12 H2 — 1250 A fixed breaker for power distribution
The LV848179 is a Schneider Electric MasterPact MTZ2 fixed circuit breaker, 4 poles, rated 1250 A at 40 °C. The device is Category B selectivity, so it coordinates with downstream breakers to isolate only the faulted branch, keeping the rest of the distribution live.
The Icw short-time withstand is 85 kA for 1 second, which matters for coordination studies: downstream devices must clear within that window or the breaker's through-fault rating is exceeded. Rated impulse withstand voltage is 12 kV, covering surge events on industrial mains. The 100 W power dissipation at rated current means the panel's thermal budget needs to account for that heat — forced ventilation or larger enclosure volume may be required if other heat sources are nearby.
Mounting and integration — fixed, front/rear connections
Fixed mounting on rails or base plate. Connection pitch is 115 mm. Both upside and downside connections accept front or rear terminations, giving flexibility for panel layout — rear connection keeps cabling out of the door swing area. Neutral is on the right. Dimensions: 537 mm wide, 352 mm high, 300 mm deep — verify the enclosure depth allows rear cable bending radius.
This is a current-production part, so lead times are typically factory-build cycles rather than last-time-buy surplus.
