What the ratings mean on-site
Rated operational current at 1000 A AC — that's the continuous load it can carry at 1150 V without derating. The 105 kA peak making capacity (Icm) tells you it can close onto a fault and survive, which is the spec you check for emergency switching or backup closure. Short-time withstand of 50 kA for 1 s or 3 s gives you coordination headroom with upstream protection — you can let a downstream fault clear without the switch disconnector failing. Isolation suitability is confirmed to EN/IEC 60947-3, so this unit serves as a visible-break disconnect for lockout/tagout. The contact position indicator confirms open/closed state without opening the door.
Drawout mounting on a chassis — the unit slides in and out for maintenance without unbolting busbars. Connection pitch of 115 mm lines up with standard MasterPact MTZ2 cradle bus. Ambient operation from -25 to 70 °C covers most indoor electrical rooms; storage range of -40 to 85 °C handles shipping and laydown. IP30 front face keeps fingers out but isn't sealed against hose-down — keep it in an IP54 or better enclosure if the environment is wet.
