Switch-disconnector for high-current distribution
The Schneider Electric LV848759 is a MasterPact MTZ2 20 HA10 switch-disconnector rated for 2000 A at 1150 V AC, 50/60 Hz, in a 4-pole drawout chassis mount.
Rated operational current (Ie) of 2000 A AC at 1150 V means this switch handles full-load current for large feeders, main incomers, or bus-tie applications in industrial and utility distribution. Short-time withstand current (Icw) of 50 kA for 1 s and 50 kA for 3 s defines the switch's ability to pass fault current without damage during downstream breaker coordination — critical for selective coordination studies. The making capacity (Icm) of 105 kA peak at 1150 V confirms it can close onto a bolted fault without welding contacts. Utilisation categories AC-23A and AC-3 cover switching of mixed loads including motors, resistive, and slightly inductive circuits. AC-23A is the more demanding category for frequent switching of motor loads; AC-3 covers squirrel-cage motors during starting and running. The electrical durability of 500 cycles at 1150 V under AC-23A reflects the heavy-duty contact design.
Drawout mounting on a dedicated chassis allows the switch to be racked out for maintenance or replacement without disturbing bus connections — standard for main and tie positions in switchgear. Connection pitch of 115 mm matches MasterPact MTZ2 cradle dimensions. Physical footprint: 556 mm wide × 439 mm high × 403 mm deep. The IP30 degree of protection means it is not sealed against moisture — install within an enclosed switchgear cubicle rated for the environment.
