Product details

24 V AC 60 Hz coil for TeSys D contactors

The LX1D2B6 is a replacement coil for TeSys D contactors rated 9 to 18 A — it bolts onto the contactor magnet assembly, not the power terminals. If your line voltage sags below 19.2 V at the coil, the contactor drops out.

Obsolete — source through surplus channels

Schneider lists this coil as obsolete. No factory orders; no scheduled production. The only supply path is independent surplus or broker inventory. Inrush draw is 70 VA at 60 Hz, dropping to 7.5 VA once the contactor seals — the hold-in power is about one-tenth the pick-up load, which matters if the control transformer is already heavily loaded.

Coil construction — no built-in suppressor

This coil ships without a built-in suppressor module. If the contactor drives inductive loads or the PLC output is solid-state, you need an external RC snubber or varistor across the coil to limit switching transients. Average DC resistance is 4.98 Ω at 20 °C; closed-circuit inductance measures 0.25 H. The time constant (L/R) is about 50 ms, so the coil current decays slowly enough that a standard 24 V AC output can drive it without a separate interposing relay in most panels.
