575 V AC 60 Hz coil for TeSys D contactors
The LX1D2S6 is a replacement coil from the TeSys D range, designed to fit 9 to 18 A contactors in that family. It operates on a 575 V AC 60 Hz control circuit — a non-standard voltage that narrows the pool of drop-in alternatives. The coil draws 70 VA inrush at 60 Hz (cos φ 0.75) and holds in at 7.5 VA (cos φ 0.3). The closed-circuit inductance is 119 H, with an average DC resistance of 3482 Ω at 20 °C. These values matter for sizing the control transformer and verifying the PLC output relay can handle the inrush without contact welding.
Obsolete — sourcing through independent channels
Schneider Electric has marked the LX1D2S6 as obsolete. No official successor order code is listed in the manufacturer's lifecycle record. For a line-down situation or a BOM freeze, the part is available through independent surplus and broker channels — quantities are lot-specific and confirmed at RFQ. The control circuit voltage limits are 0.8 to 1.1 Uc at 60 Hz (up to 55 °C ambient). If the replacement coil must operate at a different voltage or frequency, the entire contactor assembly may need to be swapped rather than just the coil.
No built-in suppressor — plan for external snubbing
This coil ships without a built-in suppressor module. In a panel with a PLC or electronic controller on the same control circuit, an external RC snubber or varistor across the coil terminals is standard practice to limit the inductive kickback on de-energisation. The TeSys D range offers separate suppressor modules that clip onto the coil terminals.
