Coil swap for a TeSys D contactor
The LX1D4L6 is the replacement coil for a TeSys D contactor when the control voltage needs to be 208 V AC 60 Hz. It's the part you pull when the old coil opens or the line voltage changes — not a full contactor swap, just the magnet assembly. Inrush is 100 VA at 60 Hz; once the armature seals, the hold-in drops to 8.5 VA. That 12:1 ratio means the control transformer needs to handle the inrush without sagging below the 0.8 Uc dropout threshold — especially on a long cable run to the panel.
Voltage tolerance and thermal limits
Below 0.8 Uc the contactor may drop out; above 1.1 Uc the coil temperature rises and the insulation life shortens. On a warm panel near the enclosure roof, derate the supply voltage accordingly. AC 60 Hz only — this coil will not pull in reliably on 50 Hz or DC control circuits. If the site runs 50 Hz, you need the equivalent 208 V 50 Hz coil variant from the same TeSys D range.
