Coil for the 80/95 A frame
The LX1D6Z6 is a replacement coil in the TeSys D line, wound for 20 V AC at 60 Hz and sized for the 80 A and 95 A contactor frames. It pulls 220 VA inrush at 0.75 power factor, then settles to 22 VA hold-in at 0.3 PF — the drop is typical of an AC-magnet coil, so the control transformer supplying it needs to handle the inrush without dipping below 0.85 Uc or the armature chatters. The coil has no built-in suppressor; if the contactor drives inductive loads, you add an RC snubber or varistor across the coil terminals externally.
Voltage tolerance and thermal limits
Operating range is 0.85 to 1.1 Uc at 60 Hz below 55 °C ambient; drop-out occurs between 0.3 and 0.6 Uc. That 0.3 floor is generous — the coil stays pulled in through a brownout down to about 6 V, which matters on a line fed by a marginal generator. Heat dissipation runs 6 to 10 W at 50/60 Hz; in a densely packed panel, that adds up. Ambient operating range is -5 to 60 °C, so it handles a warm cabinet without derating.
Mechanical endurance and cycling
Rated for 10 million mechanical cycles at a maximum operating rate of 3600 cycles per hour at 60 °C.
