Product details

The LX1FK140 is a replacement coil for the TeSys F contactor range, rated for 277 V AC control circuits at 40–400 Hz. It pulls 2200 VA inrush and settles to 36 VA holding at 20 °C. No built-in suppressor module — you'll need an external RC snubber or varistor across the coil if driving it from a PLC or solid-state output.

Coil Performance

Opening time runs 100–170 ms, closing 40–75 ms. Coil resistance measures 16.5 Ω inrush and 420 Ω holding at 20 °C; inductance of the closed circuit is 2.25 H. Control voltage limits are 0.85–1.1 Uc for operation and 0.3–0.5 Uc for dropout at 55 °C. Ambient temperature range for operation is –5 to 55 °C.

Heat Dissipation

The coil dissipates 18 W at 40–400 Hz. That heat goes into the contactor enclosure — if you're running multiple contactors in a sealed panel, account for the cumulative thermal load to stay within the ambient rating.

Integration Note

This is a TeSys F range coil — it mounts directly onto the F-frame contactor magnet assembly. No built-in suppressor means you wire the suppression externally. For AC control, a standard RC snubber across the coil terminals handles the back-EMF. If the contactor is cycled frequently, factor in the 18 W dissipation when sizing panel ventilation.

Frequently asked questions

Does the LX1FK140 have a built-in coil suppression module?

No — the coil technology is listed as 'without built-in suppressor module.' You must add an external RC snubber or varistor for back-EMF protection, especially when driven by electronic outputs.
