The LX4D6WD is a replacement contactor coil from the Schneider Electric TeSys range, designed for the LX1D6 contactor frame. It operates on a 543 V DC control circuit — an uncommon voltage that narrows the pool of drop-in alternatives. The coil draws a steady-state current determined by its 51.9 Ohm resistance at 20 °C (68 °F) and 4.18 H inductance when the contactor is closed. That inductance means the coil holds well on DC but takes slightly longer to saturate than a lower-inductance design — expect a few extra milliseconds of pick-up delay compared to a standard 24 V DC coil. Rated for 10 million mechanical cycles at up to 3600 operations per hour at 60 °C (140 °F), this coil matches the LX1D6 contactor's mechanical endurance. The ambient operating range of -5 to 60 °C covers most panel environments, though sustained high temperature will accelerate insulation aging on the winding.
Installation note — suppressor module
The LX4D6WD ships without a built-in suppressor module. On a DC coil, that means the flyback diode or RC snubber must be added externally across the coil terminals — otherwise the inductive kick when de-energizing will arc across the control relay contacts and radiate noise into nearby electronics. A standard 1N4007 diode (reverse-biased across the coil) is adequate for this 543 V DC circuit, but verify the diode's reverse voltage rating exceeds the supply.
