The LX4D6ZD is a replacement contactor coil from the Schneider TeSys range, designed to fit the LX1D6 contactor frame. It operates on a 20 V DC control circuit, drawing a steady-state current determined by its 51.9 Ohm resistance at 20 °C. The coil is supplied without a built-in suppressor module, so an external flyback diode or RC snubber must be added across the terminals to protect the drive circuit when the contactor de-energises.
Rated for 20 V DC control voltage — this is the nominal coil voltage, not the pick-up threshold. The coil will hold in down to roughly 18 V DC and drop out below that, typical for DC-operated contactors. Maximum operating rate of 3600 cycles per hour at 60 °C sets the thermal limit for frequent jogging or rapid cycling applications — stay below that rate in warm cabinets or the coil temperature will rise above the 60 °C ambient limit.
