Product details

The LX4FG155 is a replacement contactor coil from the TeSys range, designed to fit FG-frame contactors. It operates on a 155 V DC control circuit with a DC wide-range coil technology — no built-in suppressor module, so you'll need to add external flyback suppression if the circuit doesn't already have it. Switching time is specified at 30 to 40 ms for closing and 30 to 50 ms for opening, which is typical for DC-operated contactor coils in this frame size. The coil draws an inrush resistance of 30.2 Ω at 68 °F (20 °C) and a holding resistance of 6309 Ω at the same temperature — the wide ratio between inrush and hold tells you this is a power-saver design that drops to a low holding current once the contactor seals. Operational voltage window is 0.85 to 1.1 times Uc at 131 °F (55 °C). Drop-out threshold is 0.15 to 0.2 times Uc at the same temperature.

This coil mounts into FG-frame TeSys contactors. Since it lacks a built-in suppressor, plan for an external diode or RC snubber across the coil terminals if the control circuit doesn't already provide one — this protects the DC supply and nearby electronics from the inductive kick on de-energization.

Frequently asked questions

Does this coil include a built-in suppressor?

No. The coil technology is listed as 'Without built-in suppressor module.' External flyback suppression must be added if the control circuit does not already provide it.
