The LX4FH170 is a replacement contactor coil from the TeSys F range, wound for 170 V DC control. It is the coil that drives the main power poles on the corresponding TeSys F contactor frame — no suppressor module is built in, so you supply your own flyback diode or RC snubber across the coil terminals. Closing time runs 40 to 50 ms; opening takes 40 to 65 ms. The coil draws 750 W inrush at 20 °C, then settles to 5 W holding. Average resistance measures 65.7 Ω inrush and 11,500 Ω holding at the same temperature. Inductance of the closed circuit is 1590 H. Control voltage limits at 55 °C: operational range is 0.85 to 1.1 Uc; drop-out occurs between 0.15 and 0.2 Uc. Ambient air temperature for operation spans -5 to 55 °C. Maximum operating rate is 2400 cycles per hour at 55 °C.
Deployment context
This coil bolts onto the contactor's magnet assembly; the contactor itself integrates into a control panel alongside overload relays, busbars, and auxiliary contact blocks. Because the coil lacks a built-in suppressor, the panel builder must add one externally — a free-wheeling diode for DC coils is standard practice to protect the PLC output or relay driving it.
