The LX4FJ040 is a replacement coil for the TeSys FJ series contactors, rated for a 40 V DC control circuit. It's the part that pulls the contactor in and holds it closed — without it, the main power contacts don't move. The coil draws about 1.61 Ω inrush and 435.7 Ω holding at 20 °C, which is typical for a DC low-consumption design. Opening time runs 45 to 60 ms, closing time 50 to 60 ms. Control circuit voltage limits: operational pickup 0.85 to 1.1 Uc, dropout 0.2 to 0.35 Uc at 55 °C.
What to watch when installing
This coil comes without a built-in suppressor module. Add an external flyback diode across the coil terminals for DC solid-state drivers. If your panel sits in a hot machine cabinet or near a furnace, check that the ambient stays under 55 °C or the coil's holding margin starts to shrink.
