The LX4FJ090 is a replacement coil for Schneider Electric TeSys FJ contactors, rated for 90 V DC control circuits. It is a low-consumption DC coil without a built-in suppressor module, meaning an external flyback diode or RC snubber must be added across the coil terminals if the control circuit requires it — the contactor's own aux contacts share the same coil suppression path. Opening time is 45 to 60 ms; closing time is 50 to 60 ms. The inrush resistance is 8.03 Ω at 20 °C, dropping to 2137 Ω holding at the same temperature — the coil draws a brief surge to pull the armature in, then settles to a low holding current. Drop-out occurs between 0.2 and 0.35 Uc (18 to 31.5 V DC at 55 °C); the operational range is 0.85 to 1.1 Uc (76.5 to 99 V DC).
Schneider has marked the LX4FJ090 as obsolete. If the customer's approved vendor list requires a current-production part, a deviation or alternate coil selection will be needed.
The 90 V DC control voltage is specific — not a common 24 V DC or 110 V DC panel standard. Verify the control transformer or DC supply in the panel delivers 90 V DC nominal before specifying this coil. The low-consumption DC design draws less holding current than an AC coil of equivalent size, which matters if the control transformer is lightly sized or if multiple coils share a single supply. The coil's voltage limits are specified at 55 °C; derating for higher ambient is not documented here.
