The LX4FK045 is a replacement contactor coil from the TeSys range, designed for DC low-consumption control circuits at 45 V DC. It opens in 45-60 ms and closes in 50-60 ms, which governs how fast the contactor responds to a control signal — relevant for sequencing or interlock timing in a panel.
Coil characteristics and fit
The coil draws an inrush resistance of 1.9 Ohm at 68 °F (20 °C) and a holding resistance of 491.3 Ohm at the same temperature — the inrush-to-holding ratio tells you the coil's power supply must handle the initial surge, then settle to a lower steady-state draw. It ships without a built-in suppressor module, so if your application requires flyback suppression (common on DC coils near PLC outputs or sensitive electronics), you add an external diode or RC snubber across the coil terminals. Control voltage limits are specified at 131 °F (55 °C): dropout occurs at 0.2-0.35 Uc (9-15.75 V DC), and the operational range is 0.85-1.1 Uc (38.25-49.5 V DC). The dropout margin matters for brownout ride-through — the contactor stays pulled in down to about 38 V, but drops out reliably below 16 V, preventing partial engagement that would weld main contacts.
Operating environment
Rated for ambient air temperatures from 23 to 131 °F (-5 to 55 °C). The coil is a DC low-consumption type, which runs cooler than an equivalent AC coil — relevant if the contactor is in a crowded enclosure where heat buildup is a concern.
