It is a replacement coil for TeSys contactors that use this FK coil platform, not a standalone contactor. The coil operates with an opening time of 40 to 50 ms and a closing time of 60 to 70 ms. It has no built-in suppressor module, so external suppression (e.g., a free-wheeling diode) must be added across the coil when driven by a DC supply to protect the control circuit from inductive kickback. Control voltage limits are specified: dropout occurs at 0.2 to 0.35 Uc at 131 °F (55 °C), and operational pickup requires 0.85 to 1.1 Uc at the same temperature. Ambient operating temperature range is 23 to 131 °F (-5 to 55 °C).
Integration Note — Panel Fit and Wiring
This coil mounts onto the TeSys FK contactor frame. The 400 V DC control voltage is non-standard for many panel designs that run 24 V DC control — verify your control transformer and DC supply before specifying. The coil's DC low-consumption design draws less inrush than an AC coil of equivalent rating, which simplifies the DC supply sizing. Because the coil lacks a built-in suppressor, the panel builder must add a flyback diode (e.g., 1N4007 or similar rated for the coil current) across the coil terminals, cathode to positive. This prevents the voltage spike on de-energization from damaging PLC output cards or relay contacts driving the coil.
