The LX9FF080 is a specific contactor coil from the TeSys F range, designed to operate at 80 V AC (40–400 Hz) with low-consumption control circuit technology. It is the replacement coil for TeSys F contactors that require a separate, field-replaceable coil — not a built-in or integrated coil assembly. The coil draws 690–855 VA inrush at 20 °C and settles to 6.6–8.1 VA holding power, with an average resistance of 7.54 Ω inrush and 230.8 Ω holding at 20 °C. Heat dissipation runs 5.9–7.2 W under steady-state operation. Opening time is 130 ms, closing time 35 ms.
Control voltage and operating limits
The coil operates across 0.85–1.1 Uc (68–88 V AC) at 55 °C and drops out between 0.35–0.55 Uc (28–44 V AC). This means the coil will hold in down to about 68 V and will reliably drop out below 44 V — important for brownout ride-through or undervoltage release coordination. Ambient temperature range for operation is -5 to 55 °C. The coil has no built-in suppressor module, so an external RC snubber or varistor must be added across the coil terminals if driving from a PLC output or solid-state relay to prevent inductive kickback damage.
This coil mounts onto TeSys F contactor bodies (LC1F range) as a field-replaceable component. The contactor itself is typically DIN-rail or panel-mounted in motor control centers, pump panels, and conveyor starters. The coil's AC control voltage means it is suited for installations where 80 V control transformers are already in place — common in older European-spec panels or retrofit scenarios.
