The 190 V AC control voltage (40-400 Hz) is the coil's nominal pick-up voltage — not a universal 120 V or 240 V coil. The operational limits are 0.85-1.1 Uc at 131 °F (55 °C), meaning it reliably picks up between about 162 V and 209 V AC. Drop-out occurs between 0.35-0.55 Uc (roughly 67-105 V AC), so a brownout below that threshold will release the contactor. Inrush power of 560-660 VA at 40-400 Hz determines the peak load the control transformer or PLC output must handle during pick-up. The steady-state hold-in drops to 8-10 VA, which is what the coil draws continuously once the contactor is sealed. Coil resistance measures 45.6 Ω inrush and 1054 Ω holding at 68 °F (20 °C). Opening time is 25 ms, closing time 45 ms — these are the mechanical response times of the contactor assembly with this coil fitted. Maximum operating rate is 3600 cycles per hour at 131 °F (55 °C), which governs how fast the contactor can cycle in high-duty applications like conveyor indexing or press control. Heat dissipation runs 8.4-10.4 W, which must be accounted for in enclosure thermal calculations, especially when multiple contactors are ganged in a panel.
Coil technology note
This coil is supplied without a built-in suppressor module. For applications where transient suppression is required — such as when the coil is driven by a PLC output or solid-state relay — an external RC snubber or varistor must be added across the coil terminals to protect the switching device from inductive kickback.
Operating environment
Rated for ambient air temperatures of -5 °C to 55 °C (23-131 °F). This covers most indoor industrial panel environments but does not extend to extreme cold storage or high-heat zones near furnaces without derating.
