Coil for a TeSys F contactor
The LX9FK915 is a specific replacement coil for the TeSys F range of contactors, built for a 32-34 V DC control circuit. It's a low-consumption coil without a built-in suppressor module, so if your application needs flyback suppression on the DC side, you'll add that externally at the panel wiring. Opening time is 60 ms, closing time 50 ms — these are the mechanical switching speeds of the contactor armature driven by this coil. For a mill environment, that's fast enough to clear a fault on a motor starter without nuisance tripping on a voltage dip. On a continuous-process line running at 3600 cycles per hour — the maximum operating rate at 70 °C — that works out to roughly 2800 hours of service before the coil's mechanical life is consumed. In practice, a contactor in a pump starter that cycles once per hour will see the coil outlast the contactor's electrical life.
Power draw and thermal budget
Inrush power is 550 VA at 20 °C, dropping to 31 VA holding power. That's a typical AC coil characteristic even on a DC-rated coil — the inrush slams the armature home, and the hold-in winding takes over. Heat dissipation runs 15-18.3 W once sealed. In a densely packed panel, that's enough heat to derate adjacent devices if the cabinet isn't ventilated. Control voltage limits are 0.85 to 1.1 Uc for operation at 55 °C, and dropout between 0.3 and 0.5 Uc at the same temperature. That dropout threshold is tight enough to prevent chatter on a sagging 24 V bus, but wide enough to drop out cleanly on a hard fault.
