Opening time is 60 ms, closing time 20 ms, which is typical for a DC-operated coil of this frame size and means the contactor responds fast enough for most motor-start and isolation duties without nuisance timing issues. Mechanical durability is rated at 5 Mcycles, and the maximum operating rate is 1800 cycles per hour at 158 °F (70 °C) — so it can handle frequent cycling in applications like conveyor indexing or compressor control, as long as the ambient stays within the -5 to 55 °C operating range.
Control voltage and coil technology
The coil accepts AC 40–400 Hz or DC low-consumption control circuits, but the specified voltage is 30–33 V DC. The operational limits are 0.85–1.1 Uc at 131 °F (55 °C), and drop-out occurs between 0.3 and 0.5 Uc — so the coil holds in reliably down to about 25.5 V and drops out cleanly below about 10 V, which gives good noise immunity on a 24 V DC bus with a boost regulator. The coil is supplied without a built-in suppressor module, so you need to add an external flyback diode or RC snubber across the coil terminals if driving it from a PLC output or solid-state relay — otherwise the inductive kick can damage the driver.
Thermal management
Heat dissipation ranges from 22.8 to 27.8 W depending on coil state and ambient. That's not trivial in a crowded panel — plan for that thermal load when spacing the contactor next to other heat sources or in a sealed enclosure.
