Lexium 05 drive — 3.2 kW, 200-240 V, obsolete
The LXM05AD42M3X is a Schneider Electric Lexium 05 motion servo drive rated at 3.2 kW nominal power at a 4 kHz switching frequency, with a continuous output current of 17 A at 4 kHz and 15 A at 8 kHz. It accepts a three-phase 200-240 V supply (170-264 V limits) at 50/60 Hz, drawing 19 A line current at 200 V and 15.8 A at 240 V. The drive includes an integrated EMC filter and supports both CANopen (with integrated and switchable impedances) and Modbus (no polarization impedances) fieldbus options.
Output current, inrush, and transient capability
Continuous output current is 17 A at 4 kHz switching frequency, derating to 15 A at 8 kHz — the higher carrier frequency quiets motor whine but reduces continuous torque capability. Transient RMS output current reaches 30 A for 3 seconds at either 4 kHz or 8 kHz, giving headroom for acceleration peaks or load disturbances. Inrush current is 60 A; the maximum prospective line Isc is 5 kA, which sets the upstream fuse or MCCB coordination requirements.
I/O complement and altitude derating
The drive provides 2 analogue inputs, 4 logic discrete inputs, and 2 safety discrete inputs — the safety inputs allow a separate safety relay or PLC to cut drive torque without cycling main power. Output voltage is derated at altitudes above 1000 m up to 2000 m — installations above sea level must account for reduced cooling air density. Overvoltage category III means the drive is rated for fixed-installation distribution-level transients, typical for industrial panel feed.
Lifecycle — obsolete, sourced per RFQ
No official pin-compatible successor is recorded from Schneider — any replacement requires checking the Lexium 05 family or migrating to a current Lexium series with a different footprint.
