Sizing the drive to the load
The LXM16MU15M2X delivers 1.5 kW nominal at 220 V with an 8 kHz switching frequency. That power rating is the continuous output the drive can sustain into the motor — size the motor nameplate at or below this figure to keep the IGBT junction within its thermal limit. Continuous output current is 8.3 A, with a 3-second peak of 30 A at 220 V. The peak figure handles acceleration torque transients; the continuous figure governs the RMS load current the drive sees over a full cycle. Line current draw is 14.4 A at 144.8 % of rated load — a single-phase 200-240 VAC supply at 50/60 Hz. The supply must be capable of this draw; the input wiring and upstream breaker are sized from the line current, not the output current.
Supply and installation constraints
Single-phase 200-240 VAC input, with a tolerance of -15% to +10%. The drive is rated overvoltage category III — suitable for fixed installation downstream of the building distribution board, with transient withstand to that category. Maximum leakage current is 3.5 mA. This is below the 30 mA threshold for most Type A RCDs, but if the installation requires a Type B RCD for drives, verify the leakage sum across all connected drives. The drive ships without an EMC filter — the system builder must add an external filter to meet conducted-emission limits for the target market (CE, UKCA, etc.). The filter selection depends on cable length and switching frequency.
Production status and sourcing
This is a current-model Easy Lexium 16 drive. The compact housing format fits the same footprint as other LXM16D-family drives; panel cut-out and mounting dimensions are common across the series.
