Panel fit and power stage for a 2 kW axis
The LXM18ESU20M3X is a 2 kW servo drive from the Easy Lexium 18 family, sized for a single-axis motion control over EtherCAT. Continuous output current is 18.5 A at 8 kHz switching frequency, with a 3 s peak of 42 A for acceleration transients. The compact housing measures 93 mm wide by 208 mm tall by 191.8 mm deep — a DIN-rail footprint that fits standard 600 mm deep cabinets with clearance for the top-entry cables. Supply is three-phase 220...240 V, with an operating range of 170...255 V and line current draw of 13.2 A at nominal load. No EMC filter is built into this variant — the drive ships without one, so an external filter is required for CE-marked installations where conducted emissions on the mains must be suppressed. Plan the filter between the line reactor and the drive input.
Safety and fieldbus — STO integrated, EtherCAT native
Safe Torque Off (STO) is integrated per, eliminating the need for an external safety relay on the power stage for category 3 / PL d stop functions. The STO input is a dual-channel demand; wire it to the safety controller before the drive powers the motor. EtherCAT is the primary fieldbus, with integrated digital I/O on the same connector block. Network frequency tolerance is 47.5...63 Hz, matching standard industrial mains. Ambient operating range is -5 to 45 °C at full rated current, with no derating below 1000 m altitude. Above 45 °C or 1000 m, the continuous output current must be reduced per the drive's thermal derating curve — check the installation manual for the exact slope.
