Power stage and motor matching
The LXM18MESU30N4X: Rated 3.0 kW at 380-440 V three-phase with an 8 kHz switching frequency — that 11.9 A continuous output is the number to match against the motor's nameplate current, not the 8 A line draw. The 3-second peak of 29.8 A handles acceleration transients without tripping the drive's overcurrent limit. No integrated EMC filter means the installer supplies one externally — budget panel space and cost for a filter rated to the drive's line current. The IP20 enclosure keeps it inside a cabinet; washdown environments need a separate enclosure.
EtherCAT motion bus integration
EtherCAT is built in — no option card needed. The drive auto-negotiates the cycle time on the bus; the commissioning engineer sets the node address and checks the distributed clock sync against the master. The 8 kHz PWM carrier sets the current-loop update rate; the EtherCAT cycle typically runs at 1-4 kHz for the position/velocity loop.
Panel fit and supply constraints
Compact housing at 80 mm wide, 170 mm tall, 183 mm deep — fits a standard 200 mm deep enclosure with room for the EMC filter and cabling behind the gland plate. Three-phase supply only, 380-440 V nominal, 342-484 V limits, 50/60 Hz. The 8 A line draw at full load sets the branch circuit protection and wire gauge.
