Single-axis servo drive for the PacDrive 3 cabinet
The LXM62DD15A21000 is a single servo drive on the PacDrive 3 platform, device short name LXM 62, built to slot into a control cabinet as one axis of a multi-axis SERCOS III machine network. Power section is three-phase at 400 V with ±10 % tolerance, or 230 V three-phase / single-phase at the same tolerance; the drive therefore fits both 400 V European and 230 V North American machine mains without a separate transformer stage.
5 A continuous, 15 A peak — sizing the motor match
Continuous output current is 5 A at a 4 kHz switching frequency, with a 3-second peak of 15 A at 4 kHz; the drive covers mid-range servo motors where the cyclic overload demand sits well above the steady-state thermal current. Switching frequency is 8 kHz nominal, so the 4 kHz ratings above are the conservative thermal baseline — pushing the carrier higher trims motor acoustic noise but trades continuous-current headroom.
STO over SERCOS III — safety and fieldbus wiring
Fieldbus is SERCOS III on the integrated port, so the drive daisy-chains into a PacDrive 3 controller loop — the cabinet layout treats it as one node on the motion ring rather than a separately wired axis.
Cabinet wiring — what lands where
Connections land on four pluggable terminal blocks: CN4 (control, 0.2–15 mm² / AWG 24–16), CN5 (0.5–16 mm² / AWG 20–6), CN6 (0.75–16 mm² / AWG 18–6), and CN7 (0.2–6 mm² / AWG 24–10), with the CN1 motor-side stud torqued to 2.5 N·m — CN5/CN6 sized for the DC-bus / motor power leads, CN4/CN7 for 24 V control and I/O. Housing is IP20 to IEC 60529 — a control-cabinet rating only; the drive lives inside an enclosure, not on the machine frame. Ambient operating window is 5–55 °C, 5–85 % relative humidity, 3K3 class per IEC 60721-3-3, with shock 100 m/s² and vibration 10 m/s² to the same standard, overvoltage category III, pollution degree 2 per IEC 61800-5-2 — standard industrial cabinet environment, not a sealed washdown location.
