C60H 2P 16A MCB — distribution panel fit
The MGN60627 is a 2-pole C60H miniature circuit breaker from the Multi9 range, rated 16 A at 50 °C with a C-curve trip characteristic (magnetic trip at 8.5 x In ±20 %). The 15 kA Icu at 415 V AC and 10 kA at 440 V AC cover the common European 400 V three-phase distribution voltages. For DC circuits, it holds 25 kA Icu at 125 V DC, so it handles battery-bank or solar-string protection in the same footprint. The utilisation category is Category A per EN/IEC 60947-2, meaning it is not intended for selective coordination under short-circuit conditions; the downstream breaker trips faster than the upstream one by design, which is the normal arrangement for final subcircuits. Mounts on a 35 mm symmetrical DIN rail, occupies 4 x 9 mm pitches (36 mm width), and accepts tunnel-type terminals up to 25 mm² rigid or flexible. The contact position indicator and ON/OFF local signalling give a visual confirmation of state without needing to measure voltage, which speeds fault isolation during commissioning or troubleshooting.
If the panel ambient runs higher than 50 °C, derate per the manufacturer's thermal curve (not supplied here, but the operating range of -30 to 70 °C gives the thermal envelope). The 10,000-cycle electrical endurance and 20,000-cycle mechanical endurance are typical for distribution-grade MCBs; this is not a switching device for frequent load cycling — use a contactor for that duty. The Ics (service breaking capacity) is 50 % of Icu at AC voltages — 15 kA at 240 V, 7.5 kA at 415 V, 5 kA at 440 V — but 100 % (25 kA) at 125 V DC. After clearing a fault at Ics level, the breaker is expected to remain operational, not just safe. For DC circuits, the 100 % Ics means it can handle repeated faults on battery or solar strings without replacement after each event. The contact position indicator and ON/OFF signalling provide visual confirmation of the isolation state — important for lockout/tagout procedures during maintenance.
