DC-rated miniature circuit breaker for distribution panels
The Schneider Electric MGN61874 is a Multi9 C60H-DC miniature circuit breaker rated 63 A at 50 °C per EN/IEC 60947-2, with a K-curve magnetic trip at 12 x In ±20 % DC. It is a single-pole (1P) DC-only breaker, clip-mounted on DIN rail, suited for DC distribution in control panels and sub-distribution boards where DC loads (battery banks, DC drives, telecom rectifiers) need overcurrent and short-circuit protection.
Breaking capacity and selectivity — what the ratings mean
Breaking capacity is rated 20 kA Icu at 110 V DC, 10 kA at 220 V DC, and 6 kA at 250 V DC per EN/IEC 60947-2. For a 220 V DC bus (common in industrial DC link circuits), the 10 kA rating still covers most panel-fed loads; only a high-fault location (close to a large battery bank or rectifier) would need coordination upstream. The K-curve (12 x In magnetic trip) is designed for DC loads with moderate inrush — think DC contactors, solenoids, or resistive loads — not for high-inrush capacitive loads (which want a Z-curve) or purely resistive (B-curve).
Clip-on mounting on DIN rail, occupies 2 x 9 mm pitches (18 mm width). Tightening torque 3.5 N.m. IP20 finger-safe (IP40 in modular enclosure). Padlockable toggle for lockout/tagout. Pollution degree 3, tropicalisation class 2 per IEC 60068-2. Suitability for isolation confirmed per EN/IEC 60947-2.
