DC-rated miniature circuit-breaker for distribution panels
The Schneider Electric MGN61880 is a Multi9 C60H-DC miniature circuit-breaker rated 6 A at 50 °C, with 2 poles and a K-curve trip characteristic. It is designed for DC network protection in distribution applications, with a breaking capacity of 20 kA Icu at 220 V DC and 10 kA Icu at 440 V DC per EN/IEC 60947-2. The thermal-magnetic trip unit has a magnetic tripping limit of 12 x In ±20 % DC, meaning it will trip instantaneously on short-circuit currents above roughly 72 A — suitable for protecting DC loads like drives, rectifiers, and battery banks where the K-curve provides a wider margin against nuisance tripping from inrush than a B- or C-curve would.
The 73 mm depth and 81 mm height fit standard modular enclosure cutouts. Tunnel-type terminals accept up to 25 mm² rigid stranded or 16 mm² flexible wire; strip length 14 mm, tighten to 2.5 N.m. IP20 finger-safe front, IP40 within the modular enclosure. Padlockable toggle for lockout/tagout.
Rated insulation voltage 500 V DC and operational voltages of 220 / 250 / 440 / 500 V DC cover common DC bus and battery string voltages. The 2-pole configuration protects both conductors in a DC circuit. Suitable for isolation — verified by the contact position indicator and ON/OFF local signalling. Tropicalisation class 2 per IEC 60068-2 confirms it withstands damp heat cycling. Mechanical durability of 20,000 cycles and electrical durability of 3,000 cycles at L/R = 2 ms give a realistic service life for a panel breaker.
