The Schneider Electric MGN61883 is a Multi9 C60H-DC miniature circuit breaker (MCB) rated 13 A at 50 °C with a K tripping curve, designed for DC networks.
This 2-pole breaker delivers 20 kA Icu at 220 V DC and 250 V DC, 10 kA at 440 V DC, and 6 kA at 500 V DC, all per EN/IEC 60947-2.
Curve K — why it matters for DC loads
The K curve trips magnetically at 12 x In (±20 %) — that is 156 A instantaneous for this 13 A unit. K-curve breakers are built for inductive loads (motors, transformers, solenoids) that draw a high inrush without nuisance tripping, while still providing short-circuit protection. On a DC network, the thermal-magnetic trip unit handles the sustained overload via the bimetal strip; the magnetic coil clears the hard faults.
Installation and wiring notes
Tunnel terminals accept 1 to 25 mm² rigid stranded (AWG 18 to AWG 4) or 1 to 16 mm² flexible with ferrule. Strip length 14 mm, tightening torque 2.5 N.m. IP20 finger-safe (IP40 in modular enclosure). Padlockable for lockout/tagout.
