The MGP0802L12 is a 2-pole PowerPacT 4 molded case circuit breaker from Schneider Electric, rated 80 A at 40 °C with a 25 kA Icu/Ics breaking capacity at 415 V AC. It uses a thermal-magnetic TM-D trip unit for LI protection — thermal for overload, magnetic for short-circuit. This is a Category A breaker (no intentional short-time delay), suited for distribution panels where coordination with downstream devices is handled by the instantaneous trip.
The Ics is also 25 kA, meaning it can clear that same fault level and still be serviceable afterward. That's a high-uptime spec for a distribution panel where nuisance trips on a fault mean you don't want to replace the breaker. The 415 V operational voltage covers standard 400 V three-phase systems in Europe and Asia. The 750 V insulation voltage and 8 kV impulse withstand give it margin for transient surges on industrial lines.
Panel-mounted on a backplate, with horizontal or vertical orientation allowed. It occupies 2 modules of 35 mm width. The toggle control is manual; no motor operator or shunt trip built in. Phase connection is -L2, so it's a line-to-line 2-pole breaker, not a 2-pole common-trip for a single-phase line-neutral circuit. Suitable for isolation per BS EN 60947-2 — the toggle provides visible indication of contact position. Mechanical durability is 20,000 cycles; electrical durability is 20,000 cycles at rated current and 10,000 at 2x In.
