The MGP36800E10LJ is a Schneider Electric PowerPact M circuit breaker, 3-pole, with an electronic ET 1.0 trip unit. Its line rated current is adjustable from 300 to 800 A, so you set the continuous current to match the load, not the other way around. At 480 V AC the AIR drops to 35 kA, and at 600 V AC to 18 kA; those are the numbers to check against your transformer and utility coordination study. The ET 1.0 is a basic electronic trip unit — no fancy zone-selective interlocking or arc-flash reduction maintenance switch, but it gives you adjustable long-time and short-time pickup and delay plus instantaneous. That is enough for most distribution feeders and large motor branch circuits where you need coordination with downstream breakers. The Modbus communication interface lets the breaker talk to a BMS or PLC for remote monitoring of trip status and load current — useful for a panel that gets walked only quarterly. Mounting is unit-mount with lugs. The lug range is AWG 3/0 to 750 kcmil aluminium, or AWG 3/0 to 600 kcmil aluminium/copper. That is a wide wire range — you can land a single 3/0 on a 300 A feeder or parallel 750s on an 800 A riser. Tightening torque is 442.5 lbf·in (50 N·m) for the full range. Strip length is 1.2 in (30 mm).
It carries UL, CSA, NEMA, NOM-003-SCFI-2000, and IEC 60947-2 approvals. That covers North American and most international installations. The CE mark is present for European markets.
Deployment context
The operating handle protrudes through the door for manual switching and lockout/tagout. The auxiliary switch and alarm switch slots accept plug-in OF and SD modules for remote status indication. The voltage release slot (MN or MX) allows a shunt trip or undervoltage release for emergency-off circuits. If you need remote open/close control, that is where you land the control wiring.
