Torque and speed envelope for the application
The MH30702P07A2200: Rated 1380 W continuous power at 5500 rpm nominal speed, with a continuous stall torque of 2.48 N.m across the 115–480 V three-phase range. Peak stall torque reaches 7.4 N.m for transient overloads, but the continuous stall current of 2.94 A and maximum continuous current of 9.65 A define the thermal limit — the 3-second peak current is the same 9.65 A, so the overload capability is time-limited, not current-boosted. Nominal torque depends on the mating drive and supply voltage: 2.37 N.m with LXM52 at 115 V three-phase, dropping to 1.89 N.m with LXM52 at 480 V three-phase — the torque constant of 0.84 N.m/A at 120 °C hot copper ties the current draw to the delivered torque.
Encoder feedback and electrical interface
Equipped with a Multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder, providing absolute position feedback over multiple shaft revolutions — no homing cycle needed on power-up for most applications. The back EMF constant of 54.08 V/krpm sets the voltage rise with speed; at 5500 rpm the generated voltage is approximately 297 V line-to-line, which must stay below the drive's DC bus voltage to maintain current control. Stator inductance of 12.19 mH and resistance of 3.84 Ohm give an electrical time constant of about 3.2 ms — the current loop bandwidth will be limited to a few hundred Hz without feed-forward compensation in the drive. Rotatable right-angled connectors allow the cable exit to be oriented in 90° increments, simplifying panel routing and reducing bend radius stress on the cable.
Mounting, cooling, and mechanical limits
International standard flange with a 70 mm flange size and 60 mm centring collar — mounts directly to standard servo motor brackets without adapter plates. Cooled by natural convection only; no integrated fan means the motor relies on the mounting surface and ambient airflow for heat dissipation — derate the continuous torque if installed in a confined space or high ambient temperature. Maximum radial force at the shaft declines with speed: 710 N at 1000 rpm down to 390 N at 6000 rpm — belt-driven loads must respect this derating to avoid bearing fatigue. Maximum mechanical speed is 8000 rpm, but the nominal speed is 5500 rpm; sustained operation above nominal requires verifying the load inertia ratio and drive voltage margin.
No holding brake — plan for vertical-axis loads
For vertical-axis or gravity-loaded applications, an external holding brake or a motor variant with an integrated brake must be specified to prevent axis drift when the drive is disabled.
Environmental sealing and shaft configuration
IP65 standard rating means the motor housing is dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction — suitable for washdown environments in food processing or packaging lines. Smooth shaft end with a 0.4 in (11 mm) diameter and 0.9 in (23 mm) shaft length, no second shaft end — direct coupling to the load via a flexible coupling or timing pulley, no provision for a manual override handwheel.
