Motor specs that decide the drive pair
The MH30703P07F2200 is a three-phase servo motor from the MH3 family, sized for Lexium 52 and 62 drive platforms. Nominal torque and speed are supply-voltage dependent: at 480 V three-phase it delivers 2.26 N·m at 6500 rpm; at 400 V three-phase it delivers 2.53 N·m at 5000 rpm. The nominal output power reaches 1.54 kW at 480 V, with continuous stall torque of 3.4 N·m across the 115–480 V range. The holding brake (7 W pull-in power) locks the rotor at standstill — essential for vertical-axis loads where the Z-axis must not drift when power is removed. Smooth shaft, no second shaft end, so no room for an external encoder or handwheel on the rear.
Encoder and feedback — absolute position without a home cycle
Multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder gives absolute position over multiple shaft revolutions. No need to re-reference on power-up — the drive knows the axis position as soon as the bus wakes. That saves a home-proximity sensor and a homing routine on every boot. The electrical connection uses rotatable right-angled connectors, which helps route the motor cable tight to the frame in a crowded cabinet or on a moving carriage. IP65 standard means the housing and connectors tolerate washdown spray and airborne dust — fine for food, beverage, or packaging lines.
Thermal and mechanical limits for the commissioning log
Natural convection cooling — no fan, so the continuous torque rating assumes free airflow around the frame. In a zero-airflow enclosure or with a rubber boot over the shaft, the thermal limit drops. Stator resistance is 2.65 Ω, inductance 8.64 mH — these set the current-loop bandwidth and the maximum switching frequency the drive can push into the windings.
