Motor ratings that drive sizing
The MH30703P11A2200 is a three-phase servo motor from the Schneider Electric MH3 family, delivering 1540 W continuous power. Nominal torque and speed depend on the drive voltage: at 115 V three-phase it delivers 28.15 lbf·in (3.18 N·m) at 1250 rpm; at 480 V three-phase it delivers 20.003 lbf·in (2.26 N·m) at 6500 rpm. Continuous stall torque is 30.09 lbf·in (3.4 N·m) across the 115...480 V three-phase range, with a continuous stall current of 3.91 A. Peak stall torque reaches 90.3 lbf·in (10.2 N·m) — useful for short-duration acceleration or overcoming static friction. Maximum mechanical speed is 8000 rpm, but the motor's nominal speed at rated torque tops out at 6500 rpm with a 480 V drive. The 10-pole design means the drive's electrical frequency at 6500 rpm is 541.7 Hz — check that the drive's output frequency range covers this.
Feedback and electrical interface
The encoder is a single-turn SinCos Hiperface type — an analog sine/cosine interface with absolute position within one revolution. This mates directly with Schneider Lexium 52 and 62 drives, which expect the Hiperface protocol. The motor has no holding brake and no second shaft end. Electrical connection uses rotatable right-angled connectors — useful when cable exit direction needs to be adjusted in a tight cabinet. Stator resistance is 2.65 Ω and inductance is 8.64 mH; these values go into the drive's auto-tuning routine for current loop gains. Maximum continuous current (Irms) is 12.57 A — the drive must be rated to supply this continuously at the operating voltage. The motor is cooled by natural convection, so no forced air or liquid cooling is required, but the mounting surface must allow free airflow around the frame.
Mounting and mechanical fit
The motor flange is 70 mm (2.8 in) with an international standard flange pattern — 4 mounting holes on a bolt circle, each 5.5 mm diameter. The centring collar is 60 mm diameter by 2.5 mm deep, which pilots the motor into the mating bore on the gearbox or machine frame. The shaft is 14 mm diameter with a parallel key, 30 mm long, and a 5 mm keyway width. Overall motor length is 186 mm (7.3 in). Maximum radial force at the shaft is 730 N at 1000 rpm, derating to 400 N at 6000 rpm — stay within these limits to avoid bearing damage.
Environmental protection
IP65 standard protection means the motor housing is dust-tight and protected against low-pressure water jets from any direction. This suits washdown environments in food processing or general industrial areas where coolant mist is present, but not full-pressure hose-down (IP66/IP67 would be needed for that).
