Motor ratings and torque delivery
The MH31001P17F2200: This three-phase servo motor delivers 1.52 kW continuous power at 480 V, with a nominal torque of 25.7 lbf.in (2.9 N.m) at that voltage. The peak stall torque reaches 95.6 lbf.in (10.8 N.m) across the 115...480 V three-phase range, which sets the short-duration overload ceiling for acceleration and deceleration moves. The holding brake is integrated, rated at 48.7 lbf.in (5.5 N.m) holding torque and 12 W pull-in power. This brake holds the load at rest when the drive is disabled, eliminating the need for an external mechanical brake on the axis.
Encoder feedback and mechanical interface
The multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder provides absolute position feedback over multiple revolutions, which means the drive knows the rotor position at power-up without a homing cycle. This is standard for applications that must resume from the last known position after a power loss. The motor flange is 100 mm (3.9 in) with an international standard flange pattern, centring collar diameter 95 mm (3.7 in) and depth 3.5 mm (0.1 in). The shaft is 19 mm (0.7 in) diameter with a parallel key, 40 mm (1.6 in) shaft length, and 6 mm (0.2 in) key width. The overall length is 170.3 mm (6.7 in). Electrical connection uses rotatable right-angled connectors, which simplifies cable routing in tight cabinet layouts. The connector orientation can be adjusted without disassembling the motor.
Environmental and thermal limits
IP65 standard protection means the motor body is sealed against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets — suitable for washdown environments in food processing or packaging lines, provided the cable gland and mating connector are also rated for the zone. Cooling is by natural convection only — no external fan or forced air. The maximum copper winding temperature is 135 °C (275 °F). The continuous stall current is 3.15 A, and the maximum RMS current is 10.68 A. The torque constant is 1.09 N.m/A at 120 °C (248 °F), and the back EMF constant is 70.3 V/krpm. Maximum radial force at the shaft is 900 N at 1000 rpm, derating to 530 N at 5000 rpm. This limits the allowable belt tension or direct coupling load without overloading the bearings.
