Motor sizing and mechanical fit
The MH31002P07A2200 is a 100 mm flange-size servo motor (3.9 in) with a 19 mm smooth shaft and 40 mm shaft length — the smooth shaft means you provide the keyway or clamping coupling; there is no keyseat. Four mounting holes on a 95 mm centring collar diameter, 9 mm holes, with a 3.5 mm centring collar depth. The motor is 160.6 mm long (6.3 in) from the mounting face to the rear. Maximum radial force Fr depends on speed: 990 N at 1000 rpm, dropping to 580 N at 5000 rpm. If the load applies a belt or gear radial load, stay below these limits at the operating speed to avoid bearing damage.
Torque and power across supply voltages
Nominal torque varies with the drive supply: 5.67 Nm with a 115 V single-phase drive (LXM52 or LXM62 at 4.81 mA), 5.33 Nm at 230 V single-phase, 4.67 Nm at 400 V three-phase, and 4.2 Nm at 480 V three-phase. The continuous stall torque is 6 Nm across all supply voltages (115–480 V three-phase), and the peak stall torque is 18 Nm — this is the short-term overload capability for acceleration. Continuous power is 2270 W at the highest supply voltage (480 V three-phase). The torque constant is 1.19 Nm/A at 120 °C copper temperature — use this for current-loop gain calculations. Back EMF constant is 78 V/krpm, so at 5000 rpm the motor generates 390 V line-to-line; the drive DC bus must be higher than this to maintain current control. Continuous stall current is 5.04 A; maximum current Irms is 17.4 A — the drive must supply at least this peak current for the peak torque. Stator resistance is 1.97 Ω and inductance 8.24 mH, giving an electrical time constant of about 4.2 ms — the drive current loop bandwidth should be below 1/(2π·τ) ≈ 38 Hz for stable PI tuning.
Feedback, cooling, and environmental protection
The encoder is a Multiturn SinCos Hiperface — this is a high-resolution absolute feedback with sinusoidal commutation tracks and a multiturn counter. It provides position at power-up without a homing cycle, and the SinCos signals give the drive fine interpolation for low-speed ripple control. No second shaft end is present. Cooling is natural convection — no fan, so the motor relies on its surface area and the mounting flange for heat dissipation. The IP65 rating means the motor body is dust-tight and protected against low-pressure water jets; suitable for washdown environments but not immersion. The rotatable right-angled connectors allow cable exit in four directions, simplifying routing in tight panels. No holding brake is fitted (: Without). If the application requires holding torque at power-off, an external brake or a motor variant with brake is needed. The motor flange is an international standard flange (IEC 72-1), so it mounts to standard gearboxes and machine frames.
The MH31002P07A2200 is part of the MH3 series, sized as MH31002P. The motor is supplied with rotatable connectors and is packaged singly. Compliance documentation (RoHS, REACH, UL, IEC) is available from the manufacturer on request.
