Motor ratings that decide the drive match
The MH31002P07F2200 delivers 5.67 N.m nominal torque at 4000 rpm, but that torque figure depends on the drive voltage and type — 5.67 N.m with an LXM52 or LXM62 at 115 V three-phase, dropping to 4.2 N.m at 480 V three-phase. The continuous power is 2270 W, so the drive must supply at least that to avoid current limiting in the constant-torque region. Peak stall torque hits 18 N.m across the 115-480 V range, which handles short-duration overloads like acceleration transients or cutting through a tough spot in the material. The 17.5 A peak current (3s) sets the drive's peak current requirement — match it to the drive's overload rating.
Brake and encoder — what the techs need to know
Holding brake rated at 5.5 N.m holding torque, pull-in power 12 W. That brake holds the load on a vertical axis when power is removed — the 12 W coil draw is low enough that a standard 24 VDC brake supply handles it without a separate power supply. Multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder gives absolute position over multiple shaft revolutions — no homing sequence needed after a power cycle. The encoder feedback goes directly to the drive's Hiperface port; the cable must be shielded twisted-pair to maintain signal integrity at 4000 rpm.
Mounting and cooling constraints
International standard flange, 100 mm (3.9 in) flange size, smooth shaft 19 mm diameter by 40 mm long. The centring collar is 95 mm diameter, 3.5 mm deep — the mating pilot bore on the machine side must match that to keep the shaft concentric. Natural convection cooling — no fan on the motor. That means the motor relies on the machine frame or ambient airflow to carry heat away. In a confined cabinet or high-ambient environment, the duty cycle may need derating. IP65 standard protects against washdown, but the sealing relies on the connector being properly mated. Maximum radial force on the shaft is 990 N at 1000 rpm, dropping to 580 N at 5000 rpm. Belt-drive or overhung load applications must stay within that curve to avoid bearing fatigue.
