Supply and torque — the drive pairing governs the output
The MH31003P07F2200: The motor is wound for three-phase input only; a single-phase supply requires a phase converter or a VFD with a single-phase input rating. The nominal torque of 8.45 N.m (74.79 lbf.in) is achieved with an LXM52 drive at 115 V three-phase, but drops to 6.25 N.m (55.32 lbf.in) at 480 V three-phase with the same drive — the torque available is supply-voltage dependent, not a fixed motor characteristic. Continuous power is 3270 W, and the peak stall torque reaches 27 N.m (239.0 lbf.in) across the 115...480 V three-phase range — roughly 3x the continuous torque, but the drive must limit the peak current duration to protect the winding from thermal overload under natural convection cooling.
Feedback and holding brake — absolute position without homing
The multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder provides absolute position feedback over multiple revolutions — no homing cycle is needed on power-up, which saves time on vertical-axis applications where the load position must be known immediately. The holding brake delivers 9 N.m (79.7 lbf.in) holding torque; it holds the load at standstill but is not rated for dynamic braking — the drive handles deceleration, and the brake engages only after the motor is stopped.
Mounting and environmental sealing
The motor uses an international standard flange with a 100 mm (3.9 in) flange size and a 95 mm (3.7 in) centring collar; mounting holes are 9 mm diameter. The smooth shaft (19 mm diameter, 40 mm length) accepts a keyless coupling or a clamp-on pulley. IP65 rating means the motor body is sealed against dust and low-pressure water jets — suitable for washdown environments in food or packaging lines, but not for submersion or high-pressure spray. The maximum radial force on the shaft derates with speed: 1050 N at 1000 rpm, dropping to 610 N at 5000 rpm. Bearing life calculations must use the force at the actual operating speed, not the static maximum, to avoid premature failure.
