Motor ratings and drive matching
The MH31401P01A2200 is a three-phase servo motor from the MH3 series, rated for 2640 W continuous power at 3500 rpm nominal speed. The torque output depends on the drive and supply voltage — at 115 V three-phase it delivers 9.36 N·m nominal torque with an LXM52 drive, while at 480 V three-phase the same drive pairing yields 7.22 N·m. The peak stall torque reaches 39.9 N·m across the 115–480 V range, which covers acceleration and emergency-stop profiles without oversizing the motor frame. The single-turn SinCos Hiperface encoder provides absolute position feedback within one revolution — the drive knows the rotor position at power-up without a homing sequence. This encoder type is compatible with Schneider LXM52 and LXM62 drive families; confirm the drive firmware revision supports Hiperface before commissioning. Continuous stall torque is 10.3 N·m at 8.58 A, and the continuous stall current gives a baseline for thermal sizing of the drive and cabling. The motor is cooled by natural convection — no external fan or forced air required, but the mounting surface and ambient air path must allow free airflow around the housing.
Mechanical fit and environmental sealing
The motor flange is 140 mm (5.5 in) with an international standard flange pattern — mounting holes are 11 mm diameter on a 130 mm centring collar. The shaft is 24 mm diameter, smooth (no keyway), with a 50 mm shaft length. Overall body length is 152 mm (6.0 in). IP65 rating means the motor housing is dust-tight and protected against low-pressure water jets from any direction. This suits washdown environments in food processing or packaging lines, provided the cable connector is properly mated and the shaft seal is intact. The rotatable right-angled connectors allow the cable exit to be oriented for tight enclosure fit. Maximum radial force at the shaft is 1930 N at 1000 rpm, derating to 1340 N at 3000 rpm — this sets the belt-tension or direct-coupling limit. Maximum mechanical speed is 4000 rpm, 500 rpm above the nominal speed, giving headroom for field-weakening operation.
