Drive pairing and the torque-speed envelope
The MH31402P16A2200: This is a three-phase servo motor — the first integration check is that the drive (LXM52 or LXM62 series) supplies the correct phase and voltage. The nominal speed depends on the drive and supply: 1000 rpm with LXM52 at 115 V single-phase, 2000 rpm at 230 V single-phase, or 3500 rpm at 400/480 V three-phase. Nominal torque also shifts with the drive pairing — 144.62 lbf.in (16.34 N.m) with LXM52 at 115 V three-phase, down to 90.01 lbf.in (10.17 N.m) at 400/480 V three-phase. The torque constant is 1.1 N.m/A at 120 °C copper hot. Peak stall torque reaches 491.2 lbf.in (55.5 N.m) across the 115–480 V three-phase range — this is the short-duration overload capability for acceleration events, not continuous duty.
Encoder feedback and environmental sealing
The single-turn SinCos Hiperface encoder provides high-resolution position and speed feedback — suitable for applications requiring precise velocity control or absolute position within one revolution. No multi-turn capability, so for applications needing position tracking over multiple rotations, a multi-turn encoder variant is needed. IP65 rating means the motor body is protected against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction — suitable for washdown environments in food processing, beverage lines, or outdoor installations where the motor is not submerged. Natural convection cooling — no external fan, so the continuous power rating of 3730 W assumes free airflow around the motor. Derate if mounted in a confined space or near heat sources.
Mechanical interface and mounting
International standard flange, 140 mm (5.5 in) flange size, with four mounting holes at 11 mm diameter and a centring collar of 130 mm diameter, 3.5 mm deep. The shaft is 24 mm diameter with a parallel key, 50 mm shaft length, and no second shaft end. Electrical connection uses rotatable right-angled connectors — the connector orientation can be adjusted in the field to fit tight cable routing in the cabinet. The overall length is 7.6 in (192 mm). Maximum radial force on the shaft is speed-dependent: 2240 N at 1000 rpm, 1780 N at 2000 rpm, 1550 N at 3000 rpm. Belt-driven loads must respect these limits to avoid bearing damage.
Electrical parameters for drive tuning
Stator resistance is 0.23 Ohm and stator inductance is 2.99 mH — these values are needed for the drive's auto-tuning routine to set current loops correctly. Back EMF constant is 70.7 V/krpm, which sets the voltage-speed ceiling. 10 motor poles and a maximum mechanical speed of 4000 rpm — the electrical frequency at max speed is (10/2) × 4000/60 = 333 Hz, within the range of most servo drives.
