Motor ratings and torque delivery
The MH31403P17F2200 is a three-phase servo motor delivering 4.75 kW continuous power at 3000 rpm nominal speed, with a nominal torque of 22.17 Nm and a holding brake rated at 23 Nm. Peak stall torque reaches 75 Nm at 115–480 V three-phase, and continuous stall torque is 24 Nm across the same voltage range — the motor can hold full rated torque at zero speed for positioning applications without overheating. The torque constant is 1.3 Nm/A at 120 °C copper hot, and the back EMF constant is 85.9 V/krpm, which sets the voltage-speed relationship for the drive tuning.
Feedback and mechanical interface
Equipped with a Multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder, the motor provides absolute position feedback over multiple shaft revolutions — no homing cycle needed after a power loss in many drive systems. The shaft is 24 mm diameter with a parallel key, 50 mm shaft length, and the motor mounts on an international standard flange with a 140 mm flange size and 3.5 mm centring collar depth. IP65 protection means the motor body is sealed against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets — suitable for washdown areas in food processing or machining coolant environments without an additional cover.
Electrical parameters and drive compatibility
Stator resistance is 0.22 Ohm and stator inductance is 3 mH, giving a thermal time constant that limits peak current to 57.66 A for 3 seconds before the winding temperature reaches the 135 °C copper hot limit. The brake pull-in power is 19 W — a small DC supply requirement that can typically be taken from the drive's own brake output without an external power supply. Natural convection cooling means the motor relies on surface area and airflow from the driven load; derate the continuous torque if mounted in a confined enclosure without forced ventilation.
