Active production — SH3 servo motor, 170 W, 40 mm flange
The SH30401P06A2100: Rated 170 W continuous power with a nominal torque of 0.176 N.m on single-phase supply (115 V or 230 V) and 0.184 N.m on three-phase (400 V or 480 V). The nominal speed reaches 4000 rpm on single-phase and 9000 rpm on three-phase, with a maximum mechanical speed of 9000 rpm. The 40 mm international standard flange (centring collar 30 mm diameter, 2.5 mm depth) and smooth 8 mm shaft with 25 mm length define the mechanical interface — confirm the mating load and coupling before committing the BOM.
Encoder, feedback, and electrical connection
Equipped with an absolute single-turn SinCos Hiperface encoder providing 16 periods of speed feedback resolution — this is a position-feedback standard for servo drives that need absolute position at power-up without a homing cycle. The electrical connection uses a rotatable right-angled connector, which simplifies cable routing in tight cabinet layouts — the connector body can be oriented after the motor is mounted. Stator resistance is 17.2 Ohm and stator inductance is 7.3 mH; the torque constant is 0.19 N.m/A at 120 °C copper hot, and the back EMF constant is 13.6 V/krpm at 20 °C. These parameters are needed for drive tuning and thermal modelling.
Stall torque, peak current, and thermal limits
Continuous stall torque is 0.21 N.m across the 115...480 V three-phase range, with a continuous stall current of 1.12 A. Peak stall torque reaches 0.75 N.m at 480 V three-phase, supported by a 3-second peak output current of 4.5 A. Maximum continuous current Irms is 4.5 A — the drive must be configured to limit the RMS current to this value in continuous operation to avoid exceeding the motor's thermal capacity under natural convection cooling.
IP65 protection and environmental sealing
Both the motor body and the shaft bushing carry IP65 protection per IEC 60034-5, meaning the motor is sealed against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets — suitable for washdown areas in food processing or machining environments where coolant mist is present. Cooling is by natural convection only — no external fan or forced air. The thermal budget must account for the 120 °C copper hot temperature limit; derate the duty cycle if the ambient exceeds the standard operating range.
The sizing reference SH30402P is listed as a related variant — if the application requires a different torque-speed envelope, that reference may be the next step up in the SH3 family.
