Speed-torque envelope and supply dependence
The SH30551P12F1000: Rated continuous power is 290 W, with nominal torque varying by supply: 0.5 N.m on 115/230 V single-phase, 0.35 N.m on 400/480 V three-phase. Top speed reaches 8000 rpm on three-phase 400/480 V, dropping to 4000 rpm on 230 V single-phase and 2000 rpm on 115 V single-phase — the supply voltage directly sets the velocity ceiling. Peak stall torque is 1.5 N.m across the 115–480 V three-phase range, giving a 3:1 peak-to-continuous ratio for short-duration acceleration moves.
Encoder and feedback — absolute multiturn Hiperface
Fitted with an absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder — no homing sequence needed after power cycle; the drive reads the exact rotor position and turn count on startup. The SinCos analog track provides high-resolution interpolation for smooth low-speed regulation; the multiturn count tracks absolute position over multiple shaft revolutions.
Holding brake and mechanical interface
Integral holding brake rated 0.8 N.m — keeps the load locked when the drive is de-energized, essential for vertical-axis or Z-axis applications where the load must not drift. Shaft is 9 mm diameter with a parallel key, 20 mm shaft length, and the motor mounts on a 55 mm international standard flange — fits common small-frame gearbox and coupling patterns.
Environmental protection and thermal limits
IP54 as standard (shaft bushing without seal ring), IP65 with the shaft seal ring fitted — the motor withstands washdown spray and airborne dust in food-and-bev or machining environments. Cooling is natural convection — no external fan; the continuous torque rating assumes free airflow around the flange and body. Maximum radial force at the shaft nose is 340 N at 1000 rpm, derating to 170 N at 8000 rpm — belt-drive or overhung-load applications must respect this speed-dependent limit to avoid bearing overload.
