Motor form factor and mechanical interface
The SH30553P11F2100 uses a 55 mm international standard flange (IEC 60034-5) with a 40 mm centring collar and 0.08 in (2 mm) centring collar depth — mates directly to common gearbox input flanges without an adapter plate. Shaft is 0.4 in (9 mm) diameter, 0.8 in (20 mm) length, with a parallel key 0.1 in (3 mm) wide — standard for coupling to timing pulleys or direct-drive loads. Overall length 8.0 in (203 mm) from the mounting face to the rear of the housing; the rotatable right-angled connector exits the motor body, allowing cable routing in tight cabinet layouts.
Supply voltage and speed trade-offs
This is a three-phase servo motor, but it operates on single-phase supply at reduced output — nominal speed drops to 2000 rpm at 115 V single phase and 4000 rpm at 230 V single phase, versus 6000 rpm at both 400 V and 480 V three-phase. Nominal output power follows the same pattern: 240 W at 115 V single phase, 460 W at 230 V single phase, 880 W at 400 V three phase, and 970 W at 480 V three phase — the three-phase supply delivers the full rated continuous power of 680 W. Maximum mechanical speed is 9000 rpm, giving headroom above the nominal speed for high-speed spindle or rapid-traverse moves, but the torque curve drops above 6000 rpm — the maximum radial force Fr declines from 390 N at 1000 rpm to 200 N at 7000 rpm.
Feedback and holding brake for vertical-axis duty
The absolute single-turn SinCos Hiperface encoder provides position feedback at power-up without a homing cycle — the drive reads the absolute position within one revolution, critical for tool-change or Z-axis positions that must repeat shot after shot. Integrated holding brake delivers 0.8 N.m (7.08 lbf.in) holding torque — sufficient to hold a vertical load on a gantry or press axis when the servo drive is disabled, preventing drift during power-off or E-stop conditions. Continuous stall torque is 1.05 N.m (9.29 lbf.in) at 115-480 V three phase, with a peak stall torque of 3.5 N.m (31.0 lbf.in) — the brake torque sits below the continuous stall, so the brake does not limit the motor's rated torque output.
Environmental rating and thermal management
IP65 rating on both the motor body and the shaft bushing per IEC 60034-5 — the seal at the shaft exit prevents coolant ingress in machining environments, and the housing withstands washdown in food-processing lines. Cooling is natural convection — no external fan or water jacket required, which simplifies installation but means the 680 W continuous power rating assumes free airflow around the motor body; derating applies in enclosed gearbox mounts. Stator resistance is 10.4 Ohm and stator inductance 37.98 mH — these values set the I²R copper losses and the current-loop bandwidth the drive must handle; the torque constant is 0.62 N.m/A at 120 °C copper temperature.
