The SH30701P0AF3000 is a 690 W three-phase servo motor from Schneider Electric's SH3 series, delivering 6000 rpm nominal speed at 400 V three-phase supply and 7200 rpm at 480 V three-phase. At 230 V single-phase input it runs at 3000 rpm with 1.4 N.m nominal torque — the speed-torque envelope shifts with the supply voltage, so matching the drive's bus voltage to the motor's rated point is the first check in the BOM. The integrated holding brake delivers 3 N.m holding torque, enough to hold a vertical axis or a conveyor load at standstill without the drive holding current. Brake pull-in power is 7 W — small enough that the brake coil doesn't add meaningful heat to the motor body in a cabinet. Encoder feedback is absolute single-turn Hiperface DSL over a single cable, combining power and feedback in one rotatable right-angle connector or a quicklock straight connector. The single-cable topology simplifies cable management on a moving axis and eliminates one connector failure point.
Torque and inertia profile for dynamic positioning
Peak stall torque reaches 3.5 N.m across the 115-480 V three-phase range, roughly 2.5× the continuous stall torque of 1.25 N.m. This headroom handles acceleration bursts during indexing moves without saturating the magnetic circuit — useful for cycle-time-critical applications where the axis must accelerate a load quickly then settle. Continuous stall current is 1.8 A, and the maximum RMS current is 5.7 A — the drive's continuous and peak current ratings must cover these figures at the operating speed. The 42.6 mH stator inductance and 10.4 Ω stator resistance define the electrical time constant the drive's current regulator sees; a drive with automatic tuning will measure these during commissioning.
IP65 motor with shaft seal consideration
However, the shaft bushing without a shaft seal ring is only IP54, so if the application requires full IP65 at the shaft exit (e.g., direct spray on the shaft face), an external shaft seal ring must be fitted. Natural convection cooling means no fan noise and no filter maintenance, but the continuous torque rating assumes free airflow around the motor body. In a confined cabinet or with heat-radiating components nearby, the 690 W continuous power may need derating — the 130 °C copper hot-spot temperature is the thermal limit.
The motor flange is the international standard 70 mm size (2.8 in) with a 60 mm centring collar and 5.5 mm mounting holes — this matches the common IEC frame pattern for 690 W servo motors, so it retrofits into existing machine footprints without adapter plates. The smooth shaft (11 mm diameter, 23 mm length) accepts standard clamping couplings.
