Three-phase servo with integrated holding brake
The SH30701P0AF4000 is a three-phase servo motor from Schneider Electric's SH3 series, delivering 690 W nominal output power at 400 V or 480 V three-phase supply. The integrated holding brake provides 3 N.m holding torque, which holds the load in position when power is removed — essential for vertical-axis or gravity-loaded applications where the load must not drift. Nominal speed shifts with the supply: 3000 rpm on single-phase 230 V, 6000 rpm on three-phase 400 V, and 7200 rpm on three-phase 480 V. The nominal torque also varies — 1.4 N.m at 230 V single-phase, 1.1 N.m at 400 V or 480 V three-phase — so the application voltage determines the torque-speed envelope available for the load.
Encoder feedback and environmental sealing
The motor carries an absolute single-turn Hiperface DSL encoder, providing position feedback without needing a battery-backed multiturn count. This suits applications where the axis must know its position immediately on power-up — pick-and-place, indexing tables, or tool changers. Rated IP65 on the motor body per IEC 60034-5, with IP54 at the shaft bushing when the shaft seal ring is not fitted. In washdown environments, the shaft seal ring should be added to maintain the full IP65 rating at the shaft exit; without it, moisture can ingress past the bushing over time.
Sizing and mounting fit
The motor flange is 70 mm (2.8 in) with an international standard flange pattern — mounting holes at 5.5 mm diameter and a centring collar depth of 2.5 mm. Overall length is 180 mm (7.09 in) with a smooth shaft 11 mm diameter and 23 mm engagement length.
