Motor identity and key fit checks
The SH30701P1AF3000 is a Schneider Electric SH3-series servo motor with an integral holding brake, designed for three-phase supply. The brake is built in — no external brake resistor or separate mechanical brake to source, which keeps the kit complete for vertical-axis or safety-hold applications where the load must stay put when power is removed. The holding torque is 3 N.m (26.6 lbf.in), so it holds a vertical load of that torque without back-driving through the gearbox. The brake pull-in power is 7 W — a modest draw that the drive's brake control output can handle without an external relay in most cases.
Power, speed, and torque across supply voltages
Continuous output power is voltage-dependent: 690 W at 400 V three-phase or 480 V three-phase, and 370 W at 230 V single-phase. The nominal speed also shifts with the supply — 3000 rpm at 230 V single-phase, 6000 rpm at 400 V three-phase, and 7200 rpm at 480 V three-phase. If the line voltage in the panel is 400 V three-phase, the motor delivers its full 690 W at 6000 rpm. Continuous stall torque is 1.25 N.m across the 115...480 V three-phase range, and peak stall torque reaches 3.5 N.m. The torque constant is 0.69 N.m/A at 120 °C copper temperature — useful for sizing the drive's continuous current rating against the load cycle.
Encoder, feedback, and mounting interface
The encoder is an absolute single-turn Hiperface DSL — a digital serial-link feedback protocol common on Schneider servo drives. The drive must support Hiperface DSL to read position; if the existing drive uses a different feedback interface (EnDat, BiSS, incremental), this motor will not communicate without a feedback converter or a drive swap. Mounting uses an international standard flange with a 70 mm flange size, a 60 mm centring collar diameter, and a 2.5 mm centring collar depth. The shaft is 11 mm diameter with a parallel key, 23 mm shaft length. The motor body length is 180 mm (7.09 in). These dimensions confirm the mechanical fit to the machine frame or gearbox pilot bore.
Environmental sealing and cooling
The motor body is rated IP65 per IEC 60034-5, meaning it is dust-tight and protected against low-pressure water jets — suitable for washdown areas or dusty production lines. The shaft bushing without a shaft seal ring drops to IP54, so if the application sees direct spray on the shaft exit, an optional shaft seal ring should be fitted to maintain the full IP65 rating. Cooling is by natural convection — no external fan or forced air. The maximum radial force at the shaft is 730 N at 1000 rpm, and the maximum axial force is 80 N. These limits govern the belt tension or direct-coupling alignment to avoid bearing overload.
