640 W servo with speed-dependent torque profile
The Schneider Electric SH30702M02A1100 is a three-phase SH3 servo motor delivering 640 W continuous power. Its nominal torque varies with supply voltage: 2.2 Nm at 115 V single-phase, 2.15 Nm at 230 V single-phase, and 2.03 Nm at both 400 V and 480 V three-phase. Nominal speed also depends on the supply: 750 rpm at 115 V single-phase, 1500 rpm at 230 V single-phase, 3000 rpm at 400 V three-phase, and 3600 rpm at 480 V three-phase. Peak stall torque reaches 7.6 Nm across the 115-480 V three-phase range, with continuous stall torque at 2.04 Nm.
Absolute multiturn feedback and IP65 sealing
An absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder provides position feedback without needing a home cycle on power-up — important for applications where the machine must resume from the last known position after a power loss. The encoder type is specified as absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface. The motor and shaft bushing carry an IP65 rating per IEC 60034-5, meaning it withstands water jets and dust ingress. This suits washdown environments in food processing or packaging lines where the motor is exposed to hose-down cleaning.
Mounting and mechanical interface
The motor mounts via an international standard flange with a 70 mm flange size. The smooth shaft (no keyway) is 11 mm in diameter and 23 mm long, with a centring collar diameter of 60 mm and depth of 2.5 mm. Mounting holes are 5.5 mm in diameter.
Electrical parameters and thermal limits
Stator resistance is 16.4 Ohm, stator inductance is 115.7 mH. The torque constant is 1.36 Nm/A at 120 °C, and the back EMF constant is 95.9 V/krpm at 20 °C. Maximum continuous current (Irms) is 6.0 A, with a 3-second peak output current also at 6.0 A. Continuous stall current is 1.5 A. The motor has 3 poles, and the hot-spot copper temperature is rated at 130 °C. Maximum radial force on the shaft varies with speed: 710 N at 1000 rpm, dropping to 390 N at 6000 rpm. Maximum axial force is 80 N. The motor is supplied without a holding brake.
The sizing reference is SH30702M, and the device short name is SH3. The motor is part of the Schneider Electric SH3 family of servo motors, designed for use with compatible drives in motion control applications.
