What the SH30702P1AF3000 brings to a motion axis
This is a 1130 W permanent-magnet synchronous servo motor from the SH3 family, with an integrated holding brake and a single-turn absolute encoder using Hiperface DSL protocol. The brake holds 3 Nm static — enough to keep a vertical axis from dropping when power is removed, without needing an external mechanical lock. The encoder is absolute single-turn Hiperface DSL, meaning it reports position on power-up without a homing cycle, as long as the axis hasn't rotated more than one full revolution since last shutdown. For multi-turn applications, the drive must handle the rollover or you need a multi-turn encoder variant. Nominal speed is 3000 rpm on 230 V single-phase supply, but jumps to 6000 rpm on 400 V three-phase and 7200 rpm on 480 V three-phase. The torque curve shifts with voltage: nominal torque is 2.1 Nm at 230 V, dropping to 1.8 Nm at 400/480 V. The peak stall torque is 7.6 Nm across the 115–480 V three-phase range.
Mounting and mechanical fit
The motor uses an international standard flange with a 70 mm flange size and a 60 mm centring collar. The shaft is 11 mm diameter with a parallel key, 23 mm shaft length, and the overall body length is 213 mm. The centring collar depth is 2.5 mm — the mating face on the gearbox or machine frame must accommodate that. IP65 on the motor body per IEC 60034-5 means it handles washdown and dust ingress, but the shaft bushing drops to IP54 if the shaft seal ring is not fitted. For food or wet environments, specify the seal ring option. Cooling is natural convection — no fan, so the continuous torque rating assumes free airflow around the motor. If it's boxed in a tight enclosure, derate the continuous torque or add forced ventilation.
Electrical parameters and drive matching
Stator resistance is 4.2 Ω and inductance is 21.3 mH — these set the electrical time constant and influence the drive's current-loop tuning. The torque constant is 0.7 Nm/A at 120°C copper temperature, and the back EMF constant is 48 V/krpm at 20°C. Maximum current Irms is 11.8 A. Maximum radial force at the shaft is 900 N at 1000 rpm; maximum axial force is 160 N. Exceed these and the bearing life drops fast — check the load on the shaft end before finalizing the coupling or pulley.
Sourcing and lifecycle status
The electrical connection uses a quicklock straight connector — a single-cable solution carrying both power and encoder feedback via Hiperface DSL. This simplifies cabling compared to separate power and feedback cables, but the connector type must match the drive's mating half.
